I have a thing for any pitcher that uses a crank in their mechanics for deception. Rivas in his last six games has had a 1.69 ERA, 0.90 WHIP, .144 BAA, and 36Ks in 26.2 innings pitched with his last appearance going six innings of no hit ball with 10 Ks.

This is a shot in the dark because I didn’t see anything really stand out from the tape I saw of him this year. But, a lot of publications like him and the Phillies ponied up second round money to draft this kid in the 7th round. Also, my guy @Owen_FBB said to roster him this past off-season so I’ll trust his judgment.

GAGE ZIEHL, BOSTON RED SOX (2% Rostere)
Ziehl has a nice array in his bag with a slider that has a nice sweeping motion, a fading change, and a decent cutter that sits in the mid to upper 80s. He doesn’t get a ton of swing and miss so that is why he is outside my rankings. But one of most knowledgeable baseball minds from The Dynasty Guru, Phil Barrington likes him so I had to include him.

13. JUAN FRAIDE, HOUSTON ASTROS (0% Rostered)
It’s like the Astros cloned Lance McCullers when you see this kid on the mound. Fraide’s arsenal is advanced to say the least for the 20 year old. He has a tight curve and slider to go with a strong change to complement a four-seamer that hits 95 mph. He only throws Ks with a 11.23 Ks per 9 and a good 3.5 BB/9. He is currently in Single-A ball.

12. BEN GRABLE, NEW YORK YANKEES (2% Rostered)
Grable can be summed up by two words: velocity and bite.
His fastball sits at 96 mph to go with an excellent slider that has sharp movement. He likely will be a reliever with how the Yankees are handling him so that is why he is at the bottom of my rankings.

11. ANDRI HIDALGO, BALTIMORE ORIOLES (5% Rostered)
Outside of a couple of clips on X, Hidalgo has no tape anywhere else. He hasn’t made his DSL debut but was recognized by many scouts as the top pitching prospect in the 2026 International Signing Period. At only 17, he is years away from reaching the majors but he has a live arm and has decent mechanics.

10. ETHAN BAGWELL, ATLANTA BRAVES (3% Rostered)
The sweeping slider is what stood out to me about Bagwell. He rebounded nicely after some injuries to showcase a live arm with his fastball reaching 97 mph.

9. DAVIEL HURTADO, NY METS (2% Rostered)
Maybe the most “boring” prospect on my list because he might be the most complete pitcher on this list. Hurtado has demonstrated pinpoint control all season and just knows how to pitch with an advanced approach to hitters. He has an arsenal that evokes swing and misses highlighted by a curve that drops off the table so he has the stuff to back it up as well. Check out what he has done thus far in the link below.

8. LUIS GAMEZ, LA DODGERS (1% Rostered)
Coming off winning the ACL Pitcher of the Week award two weeks in a row in July. Gamez has racked up strikeouts at an above-average clip and at only 19 years old he already has a nice array of pitches in his toolbox that starts with a four-seamer that runs between 95 to 97 mph with a slider, curve, and recently adding an intriguing splitter to his mix.

6. KALEB WING, CHICAGO CUBS (5% Rostered)
Wing already possesses an impressive four-pitch repertoire that consists of a riding fastball, a good breaking slider, and a filthy, I’m sayin’ fuckin’ filthy change. It is a matter of him and the Cubs staff harnessing all of these pitches to unlock one of the most promising arms in MiLB.

5. JACKSON STEENSMA, SEATTLE MARINERS (5% Rostered)
Steensma is an intimidating presence on the bump standing 6’ 4 at 245 pounds. He has a four-pitch mix that is highlighted by a riding four-seamer that garners swings and misses. But, it’s all in the results that lands him in these rankings with 31 strikeouts, .133 batting average against, and 0.67 WHIP in 22.1 innings thus far this season.

4. CJ GRAY, LA ANGELS (2% Rostered)
Gray is in the beginning stages of not just a being a thrower but a pitcher. He is working with three pitches that all look promising. It all starts with his sinker that sits between 93 to 96 mph. If that is on point opposing hitters have shown they have no shot against him in Rookie ball. He also throws an upper 70s sweeper, and a straight change that is in the mid-80s that collectively plays well. He is currently coming off three promising appearances in which he had 22 Ks/6 BBs and only three earned runs given up in 15 innings pitched.

3. MASON PETERS, SEATTLE MARINERS (5% Rostered)
The, whiff inducing, strike-thrower with a 12.9 K per 9 has the most helium of any pitcher outside of Ramon Marquez. Yet he is still rostered at only 5% on Fantrax. He is ranked third only because there is a decent chance that he will be turned into a reliever especially if he stays with the Mariners. 2. RYJETERI MERITE, CINCINNATI REDS (2% Rostered)
One of my favorite guys who has excellent deception in his delivery. Merite was thrust onto the world baseball scene when he pitched for the Netherlands in the 2026 World Baseball Classic. He has only dominated since then with a 41.4% strikeout rate in the ACL with 70 Ks in 37.1 innings.

1. JESUS CASTRO, SAN DIEGO PADRES (2% Rostered)
From the tape, Castro who is only 18 years old has the makings of being a legit ace. He confidently throws a running two-seamer, a sinker that drops off the table along with a decent slider, and change in his bag. The arm action and the torque he creates is what sticks out to me the most. I compare it to one of my favorite MLB pitchers in Dylan Cease. If all goes right and he fills out his frame I can see him flourish into becoming a Top Twenty SP Rankings for years to come. That is after AJ Preller trades him away.
